Install Git: Download and install the file from the official website.
Clone Stable Diffusion web UI: Clone (copy) the Stable Diffusion Web UI repository to any location using Git

This article will show you the official recommended installation method, but if you have a Python 3.11 or higher environment, you should be careful. According to the official recommendation, torch is not supported, so if you already have a Python 3.11 or higher environment, you will need to take measures such as removing and lowering the Python version or installing the portal versions of Python and Git to maintain your environment. This article first introduces the official recommended installation method.

Install Python

Python 3.10.6 is required to use the AUTOMATIC1111 Stable Diffusion web UI.

Install Python 3.10.6:

When the installer dialog appears, check the Add Python 3.10 to PATH checkbox and proceed with the installation from “Install Now”. (No additional configuration changes are required.)

*The following steps are easy to make mistakes for those who are not familiar with them, so let’s follow them one by one in order.

Launching Command Prompts:

Press the Windows key and type cmd to find the “command prompt”.

Open a command prompt. If you have never used a command prompt before, this black screen may look difficult, but once you get used to it, it is not that difficult, so do your best to get used to it.🧙‍♂️🧙🧙‍♀️🧙🧙‍♂️

Confirm python installation:

Type python and press the Enter key; if Python has been successfully installed, Python 3.10.6 will be displayed as shown in the picture below.

If Python is not installed properly, resolve this issue before proceeding to the next step.

If you feel that Python is not installed correctly, please try the following steps:

  • Reboot the PC.
  • Uninstall the currently installed Python and reinstall it from the downloaded files.

If following these steps does not resolve the problem, a detailed diagnosis of the system may be required. In this case, we recommend that you seek professional assistance.
